Students may transfer to the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law only after satisfactorily completing their first year at an ABA-approved law school and being accepted for admission to the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. Please see the section entitled Transfer Students at the Admissions Procedures section of our web site for further details as to the requirements for admission as a transfer student.
Students must maintain the minimum cumulative required course average previously specified under Graduation Requirements to be in good standing and to graduate.
A. Academic Probation:
A student will be placed on academic probation if the student's semester required course average is below 75.
B. Academic Exclusion:
A student will be excluded from further study in the School of Law if:
- the student's cumulative required course average falls below 75 at the end of his or her second semester (excluding summer school) or any subsequent semester;
- the student is on probation and fails to attain a semester average of at least 75 the following semester (excluding summer school);

C. Academic Appeals:
Except as provided in Paragraph (2) below:
- A transfer student excluded pursuant to B. immediately above may petition the faculty for a waiver of the exclusion rule. The Associate Dean shall notify the excluded student of the date, time, and place of the hearing on the student's petition. The petition must be in writing and delivered to the Associate Dean at least 24 hours before the hearing on the petition. The student shall have the burden of persuading the faculty that his or her future studies will be successful, and the student shall be excluded unless that burden is clearly met.
- A transfer student whose cumulative average is below 73 at the end of two or more semesters of study in the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law may not petition until two years have elapsed.
