Campbell Law Grads Excel on 2009 N.C. Bar Exam

RALEIGH, N.C. – Members of the class of 2009 continued Campbell Law School’s tradition of excellence on the North Carolina Bar Exam. Campbell Law graduates tied for the top bar passage rate among North Carolina law schools for total exam takers, which includes first-time takers and students repeating the exam.

Campbell Law graduates achieved a passage rate of 91 percent, according to the N.C. Board of Law Examiners. Graduates of Wake Forest School of Law also scored 91 percent. Among first-time exam takers, Campbell Law came in a close second in the state with a pass rate of 90 percent. Graduates from all other N.C. law schools scored under 90 percent.

“Campbell Law School’s commitment to its students and their success continues to produce exceptional results,” said Dean Melissa Essary. “Our curriculum challenges our students from their first day until they graduate. They know our expectations are high, and they continue to respond with success on the bar exam and leadership within the legal profession. We are proud to continue our tradition of developing prepared, thoughtful, practice-ready attorneys.”

Over the past 21 years, Campbell Law’s record of success on the North Carolina Bar Exam is unsurpassed by any other North Carolina law school

Under the direction of the state Board of Law Examiners, the N.C. Bar Exam contains two sections, including 12 essay questions designed to test knowledge of North Carolina law and 200 multiple-choice questions that test general knowledge of U.S. law.
