All competitors were second year law students.

The two teams that competed in the final round were Doug Sackett & Alka Srivastava and Morgan Brickley & Tim Lendino. The final round judges were the Honorable William J. Sullivan, Connecticut Supreme Court Chief Justice (retired), the Honorable Willis Whichard, North Carolina Supreme Court Justice (retired), and the Honorable Paul Newby, North Carolina Supreme Court Justice.

Among those students honored in the final round were Julianna Wenn and Lawrence Wilson winning Best Oralists for the competition, Doug Sackett and Alka Srivastava winning Best Brief, and Doug Sackett being honored with the 2009 Rick Edmundson Memorial Award for Overall Best Competitor.
