Campbell Law honored with 2010 Downtown Raleigh Alliance Imprint Award

RALEIGH, N.C. – On the evening of February 25, Campbell University and the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law were honored by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance (DRA) as a recipient of the 2010 Imprint Award during the DRA’s Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony. Nearly 600 business, legal, education, nonprofit, and public sector leaders from the greater Raleigh region were in attendance.

The Imprint Award is an annual program administered by the DRA to recognize new construction and rehabilitation projects completed in the previous year that significantly contribute to the identity of downtown Raleigh. Jim Roberts, vice president for business and treasurer for Campbell University, and Melissa Essary, dean of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, accepted the 2010 award on behalf of Campbell.

Campbell University was honored for its $32 million investment in locating the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in downtown Raleigh, just two blocks west of the state Capitol. A video presentation during the event highlighted images from the new law school and provided a detailed description of the 110,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art school of legal education.

Key design and construction partners to the Campbell Law School project were also recognized during the awards presentation, including: T.A. Loving Company (general contractor); Small Kane Architects (architect of record); Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbot (design architect); Stewart Engineering; and RMF Engineering.

The DRA Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony offered an opportunity for community leaders and supporters to come together to network, honor outstanding regional leadership, and most importantly, enjoy an evening that celebrates the momentum in North Carolina’s center city.
