Campbell Law Graduates Nominated for U.S. Attorney Positions

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two graduates of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law have recently been nominated for U.S. Attorney positions by U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (D-NC).

Included among a list of three nominees for the U.S. Attorney, Eastern District of North Carolina was Thomas Walker (’90), a partner at Alston+Bird, LLP, in Charlotte, N.C. In his practice at Alston+Bird, Walker concentrates on complex federal and state government investigations and white-collar defense. Walker is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney.

In the Western District of North Carolina, Senator Hagan nominated Danny Davis (‘79) among three individuals to become the U.S. Attorney for that region of the state. Davis currently serves as Chief District Court Judge for the 30th Judicial District in western North Carolina. He has held this position since 2004.

President Barack Obama will make the final selection from the list of nominees.

“We are so pleased for these gentlemen,” said Dean Melissa Essary. “To be nominated for such important positions at the federal level is a tremendous achievement. We are proud to call them Campbell Lawyers.”
