Georgia Governor Perdue addresses Family Prayer Breakfast sponsored by Campbell Law School

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University is pleased to announce that Governor Sonny Perdue of Georgia offered special remarks to more than 100 judges, lawyers, spouses and children and other special guests at the 2009 Family Prayer Breakfast on June 28 during the North Carolina Bar Association Annual Meeting in Asheville, N.C. Campbell Law School sponsors the Family Prayer Breakfast at the N.C. Bar Association annually.

Governor Perdue used his time to address the need for leaders to live with integrity and lead with honor. Governor Perdue recognized each person in the room as a leader in their respective communities and stressed the importance of protecting our hearts and minds from distractions that would interfere with our obligations as leaders.

“It was an honor for Campbell Law School to host the Family Prayer Breakfast at this year’s N.C. Bar Association meeting,” said Campbell Law Dean Melissa Essary. “Governor Perdue’s participation and remarks were inspiring and a sober reminder that we must walk in this world with great integrity and humility.”

Dean Melissa Essary presided over the prayer breakfast; D. Clark Smith, Past President of the N.C. Bar Association offered an opening invocation; and Allan Head, Executive Director of the N.C. Bar Association introduced Governor Perdue. Laura Meadows of West Asheville Baptist Church in Asheville led special music for attendees.
