John W. Pope Foundation Gifts $1.2 Million for Raleigh Building
November 13, 2009
RALEIGH, N.C. - Campbell Law School today announced it has received a $1.2 million grant from the John William Pope Foundation in support of its new Raleigh building. The contribution will be applied to Campbell Law’s $15 million renovation of its Law School building. The gift also secures naming rights to the Grand Foyer, a formal reception area offering more than 2,000 square feet of space for Law School and Campbell University special events.

RALEIGH, N.C. - On Wednesday, October 14, Campbell Law's chapter of the Federalist Society hosted a health care debate with guests Doug Bandow, of the Cato Institute, and Adam Searing, of the N.C. Health Access Coalition, offering their perspectives on the topic. More than 150 students, faculty and members of the public came to listen to a lively, balanced discussion on health care reform.

2009 Richard A. Lord Moot Court Competition launches new era in Raleigh
October 06, 2009
RALEIGH, N.C. - During the period of October 1-3, Campbell Law's Old Kivett Advocacy Council hosted the 2009 Richard A. Lord Moot Court Competition. This year's competition was the largest in Campbell Law history, with 112 competitors and 160 judges, made up of attorneys and judges from across the east coast. All competitors were second year law students.

Call for Papers: 2010 Campbell Law Review Symposium

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Campbell Law Review of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law is calling for submissions of papers and proposals for its upcoming Electronic-Discovery Symposium. The conference will be held at Campbell Law’s new Raleigh location on January 22, 2010. The Symposium will address timely, relevant and challenging issues related to e-discovery. Potential topics may include, but are not limited to: ethical considerations pertaining to e-discovery and meta-data, the implications of significant e-discovery case law or legislation, proposals for the reform of current e-discovery rules, pre-litigation management systems, critical aspects of the e-discovery process and the role of e-discovery in international litigation. Bruffey, Jr. (Law '84) was awarded Campbell University's Alumni Service Award on Feb. 23, 2009. The award was part of Campbell University's 122nd annual Founder's Day program. Moot Court team wins Best Brief and Oral Advocate awards at National Competition

SACRAMENTO. CA - Second year Campbell Law students Beth Stowell, Thomas Harper and Luke Dalton were highly competitive at the 2009 Asylum and Refugee Law National Moot Court Competition, sponsored by U.C. Davis School of Law on February 7. The competition was held at the U.S. District Court for Eastern District of California in Sacramento, CA. It is the only immigration law moot court competition on the West Coast, and the only one in the nation devoted exclusively to the topic of asylum and refugee law.

RALEIGH, N.C. - With its impending move to Raleigh only months away, 2009 is already shaping up to be a banner year for the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. Approximately two-thirds through this year's admissions cycle, Campbell Law School's applications are up significantly at 25 percent over the year prior, though across the country the applicant count is up just one percent. Campbell Law was also featured as one of the nation's most outstanding law schools in the 2009 edition of The Princeton Review's Best 174 Law Schools.

Construction and renovation of Campbell Law School's new home began in earnest in the last few weeks of 2008. Classroom and courtroom walls will begin to go up in early 2009. The Law School is expected to open in Raleigh in the fall of 2009.
