Former U.S. Senator Morgan speaks to students

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Robert Burren Morgan, former U.S. Senator, spoke to students on Mar. 26 at the Law School. Sen. Morgan is a former U.S. Senator, N.C. Attorney General, president pro tempore of N.C. Senate and director of the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation.

In his “off the cuff” talk about law and politics, Morgan addressed a variety of issues, including how he got into politics, his experiences in the field, and a variety of policy issues he witnessed during his time in office, including the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The event, hosted by the Campbell Law Democrats, took place at noon and was followed by a reception.

About the Campbell Law Democrats: The Campbell Law Democrats focus on Democratic Party politics and principles of law. This organization sponsors an annual voter registration drive to encourage members of the law community to fulfill their civic duty. In addition, the group traditionally sponsors educational speakers throughout the year for the benefit of the student body.
