The move to Raleigh opens up significant opportunities to Campbell Law students. Regardless of their specialization or interest, students will be able to connect with firms, corporations, courts, nonprofits, and other agencies that will allow them to pursue their goals to develop professionally and contribute to our community.

Raleigh offers unprecedented opportunities for our students.  Inside the classroom, we will continue to offer a rigorous academic program where faculty and students work closely to maximize the effectiveness of the legal education experience.

The Law School’s move will also increase Campbell University’s overall visibility and reputation via an anchor location in downtown Raleigh; a location that will complement the Buies Creek campus. Wake County is the most important local market for recruiting undergraduate and graduate program students, and a downtown location will be an unprecedented opportunity to maintain a permanent ‘face of Campbell’ in the capital city.

North Carolina Secretary of State

I was the virtual poster child of a non-traditional student back in the late 1970s when I decided my life needed renewal. I was a woman in my 30s who had gone to an out-of-state college and who had few of the family or business connections that could help me get into law school here in North Carolina. Or so I feared.

Campbell gave me a chance and was a real lifesaver for me.  The law school truly turned my professional life around for the better. I know I would not be North Carolina Secretary of State today without the wonderful experience, and the law degree, I received from Campbell.

Today, Campbell itself is on a path of new traditions by relocating its School of Law to Raleigh, a city that has never had a law school.  This will begin an exciting new era for both Campbell and for our state capital as the law school becomes a new major focus of downtown Raleigh.

Wake County Public Defenders Office

We were thrilled to learn that the Campbell School of Law was coming to Raleigh.  The Public Defenders office can involve Campbell students in a myriad of ways to ensure that the accused have proper defense, especially at the all-important ‘first appearance’ when individuals must appear before a district court judge.

The Public Defenders office is often challenged to keep up with the caseload of individuals who need representation for their ‘first appearance.’

Campbell Law students will have endless opportunities to gain valuable professional experience, as well as provide critical representation for individuals who desperately need sound legal counsel.
