BUIES CREEK, N.C. –– Faculty and staff from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law participated in an annual campus-wide ceremony on August 13 to celebrate the service anniversaries of long-time employees. Three members of the Law School faculty and staff were recognized.
Darlene Byrd was honored for 10 years of service. Ms. Byrd began her years at Campbell Law as the Faculty Secretary before becoming the Faculty Office Manager in 2001. In addition to her duties as Faculty Office Manager, she also served as the Administrative Assistant to the University Chancellor, Dr. Norman Adrian Wiggins, from 2003 – 2007.
Jim McLaughlin was recognized for 25 years of service. Professor McLaughlin currently teaches three courses: Property I & II, Wills, Trusts & Estates and Conflict of Laws. During his years at Campbell Law, McLaughlin has also served as Associate Dean and Acting Dean of the Law School.
Olivia Weeks celebrated 25 years of service at Campbell Law. Weeks, Director of the Law Library and an Assistant Professor of Law, is deeply involved in Campbell Law’s professional skills development program teaching both Legal Research and Legal Writing.
President Jerry M. Wallace thanked the honorees for their contributions to the University. “We share the pride that goes with being associated with a place of great conviction and great tradition and sense the special mission, opportunities and responsibilities of this place,” he said. “Every employee plays a necessary role in a student’s success.”
