New Campbell Law Students Participate in 9/11 Day of Service

RALEIGH, N.C. – Answering the call of many to give back to their communities on Friday, September 11, nearly 160 first-year Campbell Law students, faculty and staff worked on a variety of community service projects in Raleigh and across the region. Dubbed ”Campbell Law Cares,” members of the Law School faculty and staff plan to regularly sponsor service projects that connect law students to the greater Raleigh community.

Groups that benefited from the Law School student teams included:

  • The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina
  • Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
  • First Baptist Church (Salisbury Street-Raleigh) Clothing Ministry
  • Mountains to Sea Trail
  • City of Raleigh Parks & Recreation Department
  • PLM Families Together, Inc.

“We believe community outreach of this type is a great way to introduce our new students to the servanthood aspect of the law,” said Professor Thomas Anderson who coordinated this year’s ‘Campbell Law Cares’ events. “It also gave the faculty and staff a way to lead by example and show that we as a Law School believe in community service.”
