RALEIGH, N.C. - Throughout the years, Campbell Law has offered a generous scholarship program. For the 2013-14 academic year, more than $1.2 million in scholarships was awarded to over 70 percent of the first-year class, with returning students receiving more than $1.8 million.
Those opportunities are now growing exponentially.
Beginning with the 2014-15 academic year, Campbell Law will add a trio of competitive scholarships to its ledger. The Excellence in Advocacy Scholarship, Leadership Scholar Award and Public Service Scholar Award are each brand new, highly prestigious, full-tuition awards for exceptional applicants that demonstrate great promise in advocacy, leadership and public service. All scholarships are annually renewable provided the recipient remains in good academic standing.
Applications are currently being accepted for each of the new scholarship offerings with a March 14, 2014 deadline looming. To access the applications, simply click here.
“Since our founding, Campbell Law has sought ways to ensure that our doors are open to anyone who wishes to serve others through the law,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “Our new competitive scholarships empower accomplished students with an additional avenue to get a leg up on achieving their dreams and making a difference in their communities.”
The Excellence in Advocacy Scholarship stays true to Campbell Law’s mission to educate and develop vigorous advocates for championing and defending individual liberties and justice. The scholarship will be annually awarded to one incoming law student who has achieved demonstrable success in advocacy programs such as debate or mock trial during high school and/or college.
The Leadership Scholar Award keeps with the law school’s efforts to educate graduates who will become effective advocates and leaders for legal and social justice. The scholarship will be annually awarded to one incoming law student who has demonstrated leadership skills and the potential to become a leader in the law.
The Public Service Scholar Award relates to Campbell Law’s history of educating highly competent, deeply compassionate lawyers who seek to serve others through the law. The scholarship will be annually awarded to one incoming law student who plans to practice law in service to the public.
Historically, Campbell Law has rewarded excellence in the classroom with the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship, and provided Campbell University graduates the Campbell Undergraduate Scholarship. In Sept. 2013 the law school added the Honoratos Emeritus Scholarship, providing an annual $15,000 renewable scholarship to any qualified veteran offered admission. For veterans, the scholarship, when paired with the G.I. Bill, essentially amounts to a full-tuition scholarship.
