North Carolina Business Court – Raleigh Divison
Campbell Law, which plays host to the North Carolina Business Court – Raleigh Division, is one of only a handful of law schools in the country to hold a working courtroom. Having the North Carolina Business Court in the law school gives our students the invaluable opportunity to utilize an on-site learning laboratory in which they can observe a working North Carolina Superior Court and attorneys in action as they argue cases. Students learn about pre-trial and litigation concepts in the classroom, and then observe expert litigators employ the same concepts in action just down the hall.
The North Carolina Business Court is a specialized forum of the North Carolina State Courts’ Trial Division. Cases involving complex and significant issues of corporate and commercial law in the state are assigned by the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court to a special superior court judge who oversees resolution of all matters in the case.
The courtroom includes three large flat screen monitors to display motions, briefs, and other documents, as well as wireless technology and videoconferencing capabilities.
