Kala Taylor

Kala Taylor was named Campbell Law’s Director of the Career & Professional Development Center on Dec. 13, 2016. Taylor boasts nearly 10 years of career and professional development experience, including performing in variety of capacities at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) since 2013. She most recently served as the associate director of career development at UNCG. Additionally, Taylor spends considerable time as a purpose coach for individuals managing career transitions.

A scholar of the intersection between confidence, hope, purpose and the world of work, her strength-based research at UNCG gained national attention as a 2015 Member’s Choice Award finalist with the National Association for Colleges and Employers. In November 2015 she presented on the topic at the National Symposium for Student Retention in Orlando, Fla.

Prior to UNCG, Taylor held several positions at Wake Forest University School of Law, serving as an assistant director of career services and associate director of the office of career and professional development.  She was also a certified internal diversity trainer for the university.

Taylor is a certified Strengths Coach and Educator through GALLUP, Inc. She has presented at several conferences, both regionally and nationally on the topic of strengths-based education, coaching and the effective collaborative and strengths-based approach between academic affairs and student affairs in student development. She also facilitates staff and team development workshops for a variety of organizations.

A native of Yanceyville, N.C., Taylor earned a B.A. in sociology from Wake Forest University prior to obtaining both a B.A. in Civil Law and a J.D. from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center . Following law school she practiced at Brock & Scott, PLLC in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the National Association of Legal Career Professionals and the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
