Tuition and fees are established prior to each academic year. While every effort is made to keep tuition as low as possible, the law school no longer guarantees a constant tuition rate during a student's three years at Campbell.

2007-08 Estimated Costs

Tuition  $28,520
Books  $1,400
Required Fees  $326
Room  $5,354
Board (off campus)  $3,568
Personal Expenses  $6,448
Transportation  $2,500
Total  $46,416

Fees include the law school activity fee, Student Bar Association fee, accident insurance premium, Campbell Law Review annual subscription, and parking permit.

Meal plans at the University dining halls and dormitory rooms are also available. Contact the Admissions Office regarding costs.

Miscellaneous Expenses associated with a legal education can be substantial. Law books, study aids, course materials and photocopying expenses, for example, can easily reach $1,500 per academic year at any law school.

Board: The chart above assumes the student is living off campus. For students living on campus, the estimated total expenses for the 2006-07 academic year was $41,920.

When estimating personal income, please bear in mind that first-year law students are not allowed to be employed during the academic year. Second- and third-year law students may engage in part-time employment on a limited basis in compliance with American Bar Association standards.

Payment of Tuition and Fees

Students are matriculated for a full term. No refund of tuition or any part of the fees is made once a student - either in good standing or on probation - begins the semester by attending any classes, including orientation sessions, regardless of whether the student subsequently withdraws or is suspended or excluded from the School of Law for any cause.

Financial Aid Credit

Often, the total financial aid credited to a student's account by Campbell University Business Office exceeds a semester's total expenses. Credit balances may be applied to payment of the following semester's expenses or students may request payment of such balances to them using forms provided by the Business Office. Processing the refund will normally require a minimum of two weeks.

Upon obtaining proper authorization from the Business Office, University bookstore purchases may be charged against credit balances at any time.

Payments Due

Tuition and all other University charges must be paid when they become due, or satisfactory arrangements for payment of outstanding balances must be made with the Business Office in advance. Default in payment precludes a student's class and examination attendance, participation in other University and School of Law activities, and receipt of grades and transcripts.
