Ashley Story, a 1982 Campbell Law graduate, is the founding partner of the Raleigh office of Troutman Sanders and served as the Office Managing Partner from 2003-2012. His practice focuses on the development, construction, permitting, acquisition, financing and investment in retail, industrial, multifamily and office property. Mr. Story serves as the Department Chair for Real Estate and Finance for the firm. The group includes over 100 attorneys in New York, Shanghai, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Tyson’s Corner, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, San Diego, Portland, Orange County, Charlotte and Raleigh. Mr. Story is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He received an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest and secured LL.Ms from both Emory University and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Mr. Story’s public service projects include involvement with and membership in the Conservation Trust for North Carolina, the Duke University Parents Council, and the American Friends of the London School of Economics. He is also an active member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Mr. Story has remained extremely close to Campbell Law School, working with the “Campaign for Raleigh” board during the campus transition from Buies Creek to Raleigh. Mr. Story was also instrumental in coordinating a major contribution from Troutman Sanders to the law school, and was one of four Campbell alums to receive the Campbell University Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011.
