Fall 2017 Semester Calendar

Last day (4:00 p.m. deadline) to withdraw from law school and receive any tuition refund.

The withdrawal form must be completed by the law student, law school financial aid officer (currently Lisa Clark), and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (currently Professor Tim Zinnecker). Students who withdraw from law school after 4:00 p.m. today will receive no tuition refund and will receive a grade of “W” [for “Withdrew”] for each course on his or her transcript.

Last day (4:00 p.m. deadline) to add a course. Student must submit to the Registrar a “drop / add” form (required to add a course on or after August 14, 2017) fully completed and executed by the student and the relevant professor (the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, currently Professor Tim Zinnecker, may sign on behalf of an adjunct professor).

Last day (4:00 p.m. deadline) to submit to the Registrar a descriptive grading form (fully completed and executed by the student, the relevant faculty member, and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs [currently Professor Tim Zinnecker]).

Last day (4:00 p.m. deadline) to submit to the Registrar an “Independent Study” form” (fully completed and executed by the student, the supervising faculty member, and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs [currently Professor Tim Zinnecker]).

September 4 Monday Labor Day (no classes)
Sept. 6 Wednesday Last day (4:00 p.m. deadline) to drop a course.
Oct. 5-6 Thursday – Friday Fall break (no classes; classes will be made up on Tuesday, November 21, and Wednesday, November 22, respectively).
Oct. 26 Thursday Withdrawal from a course after today, if permitted by both the relevant professor and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (currently Professor Tim Zinnecker) will trigger a failing grade on the transcript.
Nov. 21 Tuesday Thursday classes held (make-up of October 5)
Nov. 22 Wednesday Friday classes held (make-up of October 6).
Nov. 23-27 Thursday – Monday Reading days.
Nov. 28 Tuesday Exam period begins.
Dec. 8 Friday Exam period ends.

January 29 Monday Last day (4:00 p.m. deadline) to drop a course. Student must submit to the Registrar a “drop/add” form (required to drop a course on or after January 4, 2018) fully completed and executed by the student and the relevant professor (the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, currently Professor Tim Zinnecker, may sign on behalf of an adjunct professor).

Withdrawing from a course after today, if permitted by both the relevant professor and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (currently professor Tim Zinnecker) will trigger the reflection of a grade of “W” [for “Withdraw”] on the transcript.

March 5-9 Monday – Friday Spring break (no classes).
March 23 Monday Withdrawal from a course after today, if permitted by both the relevant professor and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (currently Professor Tim Zinnecker) will trigger a failing grade on the transcript.
March 30 Friday Good Friday observance (no classes).
April 20 Friday Last day of class.
April 21-23 Saturday-Monday Reading days.
April 24 Tuesday Exam period begins.
May 4 Friday Exam period ends.
May 7 Monday All 3L grades due.
May 11 Friday Law School Graduation.
