Professor Emeritus Scott Pryor
Professor Emeritus Scott Pryor retired from Campbell Law School in 2025 after serving the law school for nearly 10 years. Having more than 15 years of commercial law practice, he taught Bankruptcy, Contracts I and Sales and Leases courses.
For 17 years before joining the faculty at Campbell, Pryor taught at Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach. He holds an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He also earned an M.A. in theological studies from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida.
Pryor also taught courses in International Business Transactions, Secured Transactions, Comparative Law and Bankruptcy. In addition he regularly conducted a seminar on Christian Perspectives on Legal Thought. He has spoken at legal conferences on developments in the law and at symposia on legal theory and history. He also has published in the areas of secured transactions and bankruptcy law, the history of the law of contracts, as well as law and religion.
Pryor continues to pursue scholarly research in the areas of contract theory, bankruptcy, comparative law and law and religion. He is also active on the board of a nonprofit institution.
